Dear Juno, I feel you made the right decision in keeping your baby through your pregnancy and ensuring that the child had a proper adoptive mother who really wanted to raise it. Me being a male cannot and will not judge women’s decision to keep or abort an unborn child, however I do not believe it any different from murdering a human being. Just because a baby cannot defend itself at the age of one day, doesn’t mean that we have the right to end a potential human life. The way I see it, later on in life, this child will be grateful to his/her mother for giving it a chance to live life, and enjoy it. From the moment of conception, a new person completely different from his/her mother and father is born. This person has an unlimited amount of potential and its’ chance at life shouldn’t be ended because it’s mother and father weren’t planning to have a child for whatever circumstance, especially when that circumstance is mutual irresponsibility. I completely commend your decision with carrying your baby to term, but that doesn’t mean that I do not respect mothers who will not. In the great words of Dr. Seuss “A person is a person, no matter how small.” Thank you for making the best decision and choosing life over death, showing pregnant teen girls that even If you do not have the resources to carry your baby to term, you can bring an incredible joy to someone life, and even more so to your baby. I’m proud of you.
